History and Tradition

The ancient Romans first used confetti (almonds) to celebrate marriage or a birth. Their confetti were made with honey-coated seeds, nuts and dried fruits. With the arrival of sugar from the Orient, the Medieval Italian apothecary created the sugarcoated pill. Quickly this technique was applied to the manufacture of confetti.
